Daily Schedule

Main Place Youth is an adolescent girls' center. We deal with girls who have serious problems. Our goal is to see the girls overcome these problems, be reunited with their families and to go out into the world and be successful young women.

A Place of Healing...A Place of Hope...Main Place Youth

 We are in Kingman, Kansas in the old hospital building which has been completely renovated. The home was started in the early 1980's.

As soon as our girls arrive, they are put on a strict behavior modification program which is very structured. During the school year they get up at 6 in the morning. Each morning the girls take care of themselves and they have their rooms to take care of.

Our girls then go to school. They are at school all day with supervision from staff and in communication with the teachers. They carry a school note each day. After school the girls come home and are graded on their program.

They have 15 minutes of snack time and then they go to tutoring with a certified teacher that comes in for an hour and a half a day. After tutoring, they have dinner with staff. At that time we have a family meeting in which we discuss behaviors, school and other things that we can help them with. Then we have a counseling session. After that they have cleanup, they have yardwork if its reasonable weather outside, activity time and exercise time. They have devotions again before bed.
