Our Home

Kingman is a caring community of 3,000 people. We are 35 miles east of Pratt and 38 miles west of Wichita. Kingman offers a wide variety of services, a large park along the river, numerous churches, a fine school system, and an exceptional library. A wide range of medical services are available including a hospital, EMS, doctors, dentists, and a mental health center. Kingman’s hometown atmosphere helps the girls develop a sense of acceptance and belonging enabling them to use their newly-learned behaviors.  We receive support from numerous individuals, corporations, and organizations in Kingman, including the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Pizza Hut, and Whites Foodliner grocery store.  It is a generous community that has embraced Main Place Youth, Inc and the girls in our home.

Our home is the former Kingman Community Hospital built in 1934. Our sign is the first greeting to our visitors and it says a lot about Main Place Youth. The Lord is truly “Touching Lives” in this place.

 Our Facilities

As you can see from the pictures we are proud of our home setting. We have a comfortable living room where we enjoy reading, watching videos, and participating in delightful conversation.  Around our dining room table we engage in devotions and enjoy home cooked meals. The young ladies enjoy sharing their musical talents as well as having fun playing games in our annex. The young girls enjoy spending time in our large backyard by playing volleyball, swinging, and gardening, just to mention a few of our outdoor activities. The bedrooms are each decorated in festive theme-colored motifs. Our young girls may share a room with a roommate or have a single room. We have an exercise room complete with workout equipment and an arts and crafts room. During the week our girls gather in the educational room, complete with computers and our tutor to provide them assistance with their educational needs. This room is adjacent to our library.  We strive to make this truly a home-like experience for our young residents and hope that they will always consider Main Place Youth a second home where they are welcome and loved.
